Warburg Research becomes MPCM Research

Münchmeyer Petersen Capital Markets completes integration, expands its team and moves research production onto an innovative technology platform.

Hamburg / Frankfurt, 6 October 2026 – Münchmeyer Petersen Capital Markets (MPCM), a capital markets boutique focused on small and medium-sized companies, has completed the integration of Warburg Research. Its equity research will now be published under the MPCM Research brand. Coverage is expected to return to around 200 companies shortly, with a focus on small and mid caps. MPCM acquired the former research unit of M.M. Warburg in November 2025 and has since integrated its operations, team and technology with MPCM’s innovative platform. The name change marks the final step.

For investors and companies, the way they work with the research team remains unchanged: the analysts, coverage and points of contact remain the same. Research reports will continue to be available through the established platforms.

“Many firms have withdrawn from small and mid-cap research in recent years. We are taking the opposite approach and investing in it. For smaller companies in particular, good research can determine whether a stock appears on an investor’s radar at all. For those companies, it is the most important route to visibility in the capital markets,” says Ebrahim Attarzadeh, CEO of MPCM. MPCM has also strengthened the team through targeted hires. Christoph Dolleschal has led the research division since July 2026. He was previously Head of German Equity Research at HSBC. Experienced analysts have also joined to cover the focus sectors of defence and software. The team now comprises ten analysts.

The second focus of MPCM’s development is technology. An in-house IT hub team led by Prof. Dr. Tobias Blask, whose work includes the professional application of AI, has built and implemented a new platform spanning the entire research workflow. Routine tasks and data analysis are now largely automated.

“Using modern, innovative technologies such as AI is not an end in itself, nor is it a substitute for an analyst’s judgement. Technology takes routine work off analysts’ desks so they can spend more time on rigorous analysis and conversations with companies. Combining a modern technology infrastructure with a highly experienced team and the backing of MPC’s more than 175 years of entrepreneurial experience gives us a position that is unique in the market,” says Dr Axel Schroeder, Managing Partner of Münchmeyer Petersen & Co. (MPC), MPCM’s parent company.
